Who we are

SverigeStart ("we") provides a web and iOS application that helps newcomers understand important documents and Swedish bureaucracy. Contact: post@sverigestart.com.

No account, no sign-up

SverigeStart does not use accounts. The app generates a random device identifier stored only on your device. It contains no personal information and is used solely to count free-tier usage and store Premium status. Your settings, scan history, plan and deadlines are stored locally on your device.

Documents you scan

When you use document analysis, chat or reply-drafting features, the text of your document is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our server and passed to our third-party AI processing providers — DeepSeek (privacy policy) and Ollama (privacy policy) — to generate the analysis. These providers act as data processors, are contractually bound to protect your data to the same standard described here, and receive only the document text itself — never your name, email or any account identifier (we have none). Document contents are processed transiently to produce your result and are not stored permanently on our servers. The analysis result is saved only on your own device. Do not submit documents containing information you are not permitted to share; you may black out personal numbers before scanning.

Camera, photos and files

Document analysis can take input from your camera, your photo library or a file you choose. The app only ever receives the single photo, page or file you explicitly select — it has no access to the rest of your camera roll or files, and nothing is uploaded until you choose to run an analysis. On iPhone and iPad, text is read from photos and PDFs on your device; only the resulting text is sent to our server for the AI explanation. Camera and photo access can be withdrawn at any time in iOS Settings.

Voice input

SverigeStart does not use your microphone. The app requests no microphone or speech-recognition permission and cannot record audio.

If you prefer to speak rather than type, use the microphone key on your iPhone's own keyboard. That is Apple's built-in dictation: your speech is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, exactly as it is in Messages or Notes, and we play no part in it. We receive only the finished text, and only if you then choose to send it.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app schedules reminders for the deadlines you track. These are local notifications created and stored on your device — there is no push server, and no deadline or reminder text is sent to us or to Apple.

Analytics and logs

For statistics, security and abuse prevention we log: IP address, browser/device type, screen size, app language, country (derived from IP), and which features are used (for example "a document was analysed" — never its content). Log data is retained for up to 12 months.

Payments

How Premium is purchased depends on where you buy it. On the website, purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record — we never see or store your card details; see the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy. In the iOS app, purchases go entirely through Apple's App Store (In-App Purchase) — Apple, not us, processes the payment and holds your payment details; see Apple's privacy policy. We receive only confirmation that a subscription is active, never your card details, from either path.

Contact form

If you contact us, we receive the e-mail address and message you provide, kept in our mailbox for as long as needed to help you.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to or deletion of data associated with your device identifier or e-mail address — write to post@sverigestart.com. You can also erase all local data at any time by clearing the app/site data on your device. We do not sell personal data and do not use advertising trackers.

We may update this policy; the effective date above always reflects the current version.
